OAM DIRECTOR AND CEO
For three decades David Liddiard has been committed to closing the education, health and wellbeing and employment gaps between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. He has done this through his work as an elite athlete, founder and CEO of the National Aboriginal Sporting Chance Academy (“NASCA”) and more recently through the David Liddiard Group of companies including establishing traineeships and apprenticeships for the Hospitality sector via pre-employment work readiness programs and mentoring.
In 2009 he was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in the area of Minority Supplier Diversity. The opportunity to experience firsthand the work being done to improve economic opportunities for Indigenous people across the world provided him with valuable insight to grow the economic and commercial opportunities for Indigenous Australians.
On his return not only was he instrumental in working with the Australian Government to assist in establishing the Australian Minority Supply Council, now named Supply Nation. In 2004 David was the inaugural Chairman of Messagestick, and more recently the founder of the David Liddiard Group of companies that provides additional opportunities to improve education, training and employment opportunities and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and youth.
In 2014 David was awarded an OAM for his services to Indigenous Youth, Sporting and employment programs.
